Real Jelly Sandal

I bought these in black to replace a pair of Crocs jelly sandals that have since been discontinued. These seem more durable and I love the style but there are a couple downsides.

The good things: they run slightly large which is great for half size people (I’m normally a 6.5 and the 6 is roomy on me), they are super comfortable and the straps are adjustable, and they are very sturdy- I can see these lasting for many years.

Now for the not so good: My biggest complaint is the smell. It’s repulsive and very noticeable. Like an artificial sweetness mixed with plastic. And as you wear the shoes and they warm up from body heat, the smell becomes more pungent. I bought a different style of Melissa sandals and they have the same scent so I’m guessing this is standard for their shoes. I’m confused that people like this smell, to me it’s nauseating. Also, it would be helpful if the insoles had some texture. They are the same jelly slickness all over which becomes an issue as feet start to sweat.

The sale price makes them worth the money but i would seriously reconsider purchasing at full price simply because of the smell. It’s that bad.
